Together We're Better (Brochure): In collaboration with families, Alberta Health Services(AHS) developed a brochure that shares ideas about ways to build partnerships with healthcare providers. Mona collaborated in developing the brochure and always recommends it to families and caregivers willing to support their loved ones. You can have a copy at the AHS website: (https://www.albertahealthservices.ca/service/Page11433.aspx)

or directely through the link

Recently I have been contacted by family members about needing some direction of what to do when concerned about their loved ones. Patient and Family Centred Care in Addiction and Mental Health Brochure is shared with them:

As stated in Brochure:

" Partnering in the Care of your Loved One states:

You know your loved one in ways that no one else can.

Involving family and other supports is important to people accessing health services. Everyone's viewpoints is important to give the best care possible.

That's why building a partnership between you, your loved one, and health care providers will mean the best care for your loved one.

This brochure was developed in collaboration with families and shares some ideas about ways to build a partnership with health care providers.

I was grateful for the support when I advocated in 2015 for a brochure for families and how they could partner with the Alberta Health Services. The families voice matters. The outline is provided in the brochure to provide the team information about your loved one, whether over the phone, in-person or in a letter.

Tomorrow watch for Family Affirmation used as guide for families to practice.

The 8 statements are stated by the participants each week in the 10-week sessions.

Words of Encouragement
