8 STATEMENTS that can be a GUIDE for FAMILIES

1995 was the year that changed my life to communicate better and know how to approach situations when faced wit mental health in the family.

The lessons learned were a work in progress one small step at a time

  1. I accpet the reponsibility to know my role without rescuing when supporting others

  2. I let go of trying to fix someone's situation rather help them discovr answers to their own situation

  3. I realize "taking care of myself" is a priority to be able to manage my own emotional needs and wants

  4. I listen to what is said, understand what is being said before offering options for others to consider

  5. I will endeavour to reflect-back what I heard, so others feel heard and understood

  6. I understand setting clear boundaries and following through provides healthy support

  7. I am open to having honest healthy conversations so each family member has a voice

  8. I believe our family has the capacity to transform difficult situations into positive outcomes

Something to ask yourself:

  • What one is your strength?

  • What one would you work on?

Tip: How would your strength help you with the one you want to work on?

Asking yourself questions can help you to think about how you are approaching situations.

KEY POINTS:

#One step at a time

#Know your strengths

#Take care of yourself

#Change can make a difference

WISHING YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND THE BEST OF HEALTH WELLNESS IN 2026!

From our family to your family
